The Al-Qadisiyah Elections Office, in cooperation with the College of Polytechnic – Al-Qadisiyah / Women’s Affairs Unit, and with the participation of the Higher Council for Women, the National Security Advisory, the Security Media Cell, the Iraqi Women Journalists Forum, and civil society organizations, organized a workshop for female candidates for the 2025 Iraqi Council of Representatives elections. The workshop was held today, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Media Hall of the College of Polytechnic – Al-Qadisiyah.

The workshop covered several key topics, including a lecture introducing the women’s quota and the seat allocation system, as well as a detailed explanation of the voting process and the use of electronic devices on election day. Additionally, the head of the Cybersecurity Team at Diwaniyah Police Command delivered an awareness lecture on cybersecurity for the candidates, highlighting methods to prevent online extortion and how to handle such incidents.

The workshop was attended by the Assistant Deans, several officials from Al-Diwaniyah Governorate, a number of female and male candidates, representatives from the security forces and civil society organizations, as well as media outlets covering the event.

It is noteworthy that this workshop is part of a series of awareness activities organized by the Independent High Electoral Commission in cooperation with the College of Polytechnic – Al-Qadisiyah / Women’s Affairs Unit, aimed at raising electoral awareness and promoting women’s participation in political life, in preparation for the upcoming elections scheduled for November 11, 2025.
