The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Polytechnic College – Al-Qadisiyah, as part of the implementation plan of the National Strategy for Women and Peace under the Protection and Prevention Pillar, organized a workshop entitled “Concepts of Justice, Human Rights, Promoting Values of Peace and Tolerance, and Combating Extremism”, in collaboration with the Department of Business Administration Technologies.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Hassanein Ali Hadi, Lecturer Iqbal Kamil, and Lecturer Sara Aliwi, and covered the following key topics:
- Clarifying the concept of justice within legal and humanitarian frameworks.
- Defining human rights and their national and international sources.
- Explaining the relationship between justice and human rights on one hand, and achieving societal peace on the other.
- Promoting the values of tolerance, acceptance of others, and the rejection of violence.
- Discussing the causes of extremism and the methods to combat it intellectually and legally.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the presenters emphasized that justice, human rights, peace, and tolerance are not merely slogans, but shared responsibilities that require societal awareness, institutional will, and continuous practical application to confront extremism and build a more stable future.
