The Council of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held its third open session for the academic year 2025–2026, chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiyah, Chairman of the Council, and attended by the Assistant Deans, Heads of Scientific Departments, and Council members.
The Chairman of the Council opened the session by welcoming the members and emphasizing the importance of intensifying efforts to advance the scientific and professional level in line with the orientations of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
The Council then discussed several items listed on its agenda, most notably:
- Studying the establishment of the Department of Petrochemical and Oil Industries Engineering Technologies and reviewing the study submitted by the assigned committee, which demonstrated the actual need for this specialization in the labor market.
- Discussing applications for academic promotions.
- Discussing the reduction of evening study fees in consideration of students’ circumstances.
- Discussing the results of the first-round final examinations and the issue of student attendance.
At the conclusion of the session, the Dean expressed his appreciation to the Council members for their commitment and engagement, affirming that the coming phase will witness further development in infrastructure and the strengthening of academic and community partnerships, in a manner that contributes to consolidating the position of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College among the colleges of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
