The Dean of Al-Politeknik College – Al-Qadisiyah, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiyeh, participated in the conference organized by the Subcommittee for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism at the Diwaniyah Governorate Office. The conference was held under the patronage of the Governor of Diwaniyah, Professor Abbas Shayeel Al-Zamili, and under the supervision of the Deputy Governor, Engineer Kazem Abadi Al-Jubouri.
This participation took place ضمن the activities of the conference convened on the occasion of the International Day for Countering Violent Extremism, which was attended by a number of officials, representatives of government departments, academic institutions, and civil society organizations.
The Dean emphasized the important role of educational institutions in promoting a culture of moderation and tolerance and in enhancing intellectual awareness among youth, as they represent the fundamental pillar in building a safe and stable society. He stressed the necessity of concerted efforts among official, academic, and community entities to confront extremism in all its forms.
The conference addressed several key themes, including mechanisms for preventing extremist ideology, ways to strengthen joint cooperation among institutions, and the importance of promoting the values of dialogue and peaceful coexistence in order to achieve security and stability within the governorate.
This participation reaffirms the commitment of Al-Politeknik College – Al-Qadisiyah to its societal and national role, as well as its dedication to supporting initiatives aimed at combating extremism and promoting the principles of peace and sustainable development.
