The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Polytechnic College – Al-Qadisiyah, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, organized a scientific visit to the Social Security Directorate in Al-Diwaniyah, as part of the executive plan for the National Strategy for Iraqi Women (Fourth Axis / Third Paragraph), in cooperation with the Department of Insurance.

The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Nauman Abdul-Hussein Mohammed, Director of the Social Security Directorate, who expressed his appreciation for the visit and commended the role of the academic institution in promoting community awareness and strengthening the culture of social security.

The visit was supervised by department faculty members: Assistant Lecturer Omayma Farman, Assistant Lecturer Zahra Saad, Mr. Ali Fares, and the Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, Miss Rehab Karim Hadi.

The visit included a direct observation of the Directorate’s operational mechanisms and the services it provides to social protection beneficiaries. The delegation was given a detailed explanation of the registration procedures, the inclusion process for beneficiaries to receive assistance allowances, as well as the electronic services that facilitate transactions and reduce time and effort for citizens.

The delegation also learned about the Directorate’s role in supporting low-income families, widows, divorcees, and individuals with disabilities, through continuous care programs and follow-up to ensure that support reaches its rightful recipients with transparency and fairness.

The visit included a field tour of the Directorate’s departments to observe the workflow, challenges faced by employees, and ways to improve performance.

At the conclusion of the visit, emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation between various institutions to promote the culture of social security and raise awareness about citizens’ rights and duties, contributing to social stability and supporting the most vulnerable groups in society.
