Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahya, Dean of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, participated in the 7th session of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU) Board for the academic year 2025–2026. The meeting was held at the University Council Hall in the Kufa campus, chaired by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Kazem Al-Zubaidi, in the presence of all board members and several relevant department directors.

The session commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Assistant Professor Muin Al-Rubaie, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs’ souls.

The University President then reviewed the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research from the recent Opinion Committee meeting. These directives emphasized digital transformation, enhancing institutional performance and quality systems, opening up to the private sector, and focusing on sustainable development and the green economy.

The board also discussed several vital issues, most notably: monitoring the progress of the second-semester exams, activating partnerships with the labor market, updating curricula, and stimulating scientific research. Furthermore, the meeting addressed the documentation of activities related to sustainable development indicators to enhance the university’s position in local and international rankings.

The session featured a detailed presentation by Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Awad Al-Abidi, Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, regarding the measures taken to meet institutional accreditation requirements and the completion rates across various quality pillars.

The board concluded by stressing the necessity of doubling efforts to complete the institutional accreditation file within the specified timelines and coordinating work between colleges and institutes to ensure the highest levels of performance.
