The Council of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College held its fifth regular session for the academic year 2025–2026, chaired by the Dean of the College and Chairman of the Council, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahieh, in the presence of the Dean’s assistants, heads of scientific departments, and council members.
The Chairman commenced the session by welcoming the members, emphasizing the importance of redoubling efforts to elevate scientific and professional standards in alignment with the university’s directives.
The Council discussed several key items on its agenda, most notably:
- Reviewing a proposal for the establishment of a new scientific department titled “Department of Cybersecurity Technologies” and evaluating its scientific and professional feasibility.
- Discussing the upcoming visit of the National Evaluator team and the Institutional Accreditation Council.
- Reviewing academic promotions for faculty members in accordance with approved regulations.
- Discussing required updates to the curricula of scientific departments in preparation for submission to the university presidency for approval.
- Discussing tuition fee reductions for evening studies for students from low-income families and humanitarian cases not covered by social welfare.
- Following up on preparations for final examinations, including logistics and proctoring arrangements.
In conclusion, the Dean expressed his gratitude to the council members for their dedication and active engagement. He affirmed that the upcoming phase will witness further development in infrastructure and curricula, alongside the strengthening of academic and community partnerships to solidify the college’s standing within Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
