Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiah, Dean of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, received a ministerial committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The visit aimed to review the necessary requirements for establishing the Departments of Petrochemical and Oil Industries Techniques and Financial and Banking Sciences Techniques, as part of expansion plans to introduce specialties that meet labor market demands.

The ministerial committee included Assistant Professor Dr. Ghassan Nashat Mohammed, Assistant Professor Dr. Hajar Sateh Abbas, Dr. Raed Ayad Abdul-Jabbar, Ms. Hula Khalil Ibrahim, Mr. Fouad Sahib Mohammed, and Mr. Ibrahim Ali Muhsin. They were accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Aziz Ali, Director of the Studies and Planning Department at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University presidency.

The Petrochemical and Oil Industries Techniques Department represents a vital technical field that will supply the oil and industrial sectors with specialized technical cadres equipped with scientific and practical skills. Meanwhile, the Financial and Banking Sciences Techniques Department will contribute to preparing qualified personnel for financial and banking institutions to keep pace with modern economic developments.

Furthermore, the ministerial committee, accompanied by the College Dean, Assistant Deans, and several department heads, conducted a field tour to inspect the infrastructure, classrooms, laboratories, and scientific workshops. They also monitored the administrative and scientific preparations for establishing the two departments and assessed the available capabilities to ensure the success of this educational initiative.

The Dean emphasized that establishing these two departments aligns with the vision of the College Council and the approval of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University presidency, aiming to open specialized disciplines that fulfill labor market requirements and community needs, while supporting the economic, industrial, and financial sectors with specialized technical expertise.

At the conclusion of the visit, the ministerial committee praised the level of preparations provided by the college, commending the efforts exerted by the college deanship and its staff to move forward with establishing the two departments, wishing them continued progress and success.
