The Dean of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiya, participated in a special ceremony for the screening of the short film “Marcel”, held at the Engineers Syndicate Hall under the sponsorship of the Volunteer Work Committee. The event was attended by a number of local officials, prominent academic and media figures, as well as individuals interested in artistic and cultural affairs.

The ceremony featured the screening of the short film “Marcel,” starring Ms. Marcel, a member of the community of people with disabilities. The film conveyed a powerful humanitarian message, emphasizing that determination, perseverance, and strong will can overcome challenges and achieve ambitions, and that disability is not an obstacle to success and excellence.

The event program also included a variety of cultural and artistic performances, such as fortune-telling, poetry, and musical presentations delivered by participants from the visually impaired community. In addition to the film screening, these activities received significant appreciation and positive engagement from the audience due to their meaningful humanitarian themes and impactful social messages.

During his participation, the Dean praised such cultural and humanitarian initiatives that contribute to raising social awareness and promoting a culture of support and empowerment for people with disabilities. He emphasized the importance of utilizing art and cinema as effective tools for conveying positive messages and reinforcing the values of hope, creativity, determination, and resilience within society.

This participation reflects Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College’s commitment to supporting cultural, social, and humanitarian activities, as well as strengthening its presence in events that promote culture, encourage excellence and creativity, and serve various segments of the community.
