1. Laboratories

Laboratories are dedicated spaces for conducting scientific experiments and analyses under controlled conditions. They vary according to specialization:
  • Medical laboratories: focus on collecting samples (blood, fluids) and performing tests to diagnose diseases.
  • Chemical laboratories: study material properties, separate samples, and analyze toxicity and pollutants.
  • Computer and AI laboratories: dedicated to software and digital modeling.
Laboratory Technician Tasks: Include calibrating and maintaining equipment, producing accurate data, and ensuring confidentiality of results.

2. Workshops

Workshops are technical and engineering work environments used for manufacturing and hands-on training, including:
  • Engineering workshops: such as mechanics, electricity, and carpentry, where students learn to operate machines and heavy equipment.
  • Maintenance workshops: dedicated to repairing devices and preparing laboratory equipment in academic departments.
Workshop Tasks: Training early-stage students, executing graduation projects, and contributing to graduate research.

3. Occupational Safety Standards

Academic and professional environments require strict adherence to safety rules to prevent accidents:
  • Personal protective equipment: lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
  • Emergency tools: fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, and first aid kits.
  • Safe behavior: no eating or drinking inside the lab, avoid inhaling chemicals, and immediately report any incident.
  • Material classification: substances classified by hazard (toxic, corrosive, flammable, radioactive, or explosive).

4. Quality and Accreditation

Laboratories and workshops follow international and local quality standards (e.g., ISO and OSHA) to ensure a robust educational environment and operational efficiency, including test quality control, regular equipment calibration, and infrastructure development in accordance with accreditation requirements.
