A ministerial committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research conducted a visit to the Polytechnic College – Al-Qadisiyah. The committee was headed by Dr. Haider Sabah Hassan, with the membership of Assistant Lecturer Ammar Kamil from the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. They were received by Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Baheya, the Dean of the College, and Mr. Abd Al-Shahid Baqir, Head of the Student Housing Division.
The purpose of the visit was to review the condition of student housing and assess the level of services provided. The committee conducted a field tour that included housing facilities, service areas, recreational spots, and a review of the administrative and organizational procedures adopted in managing the residential units.
The tour also included an assessment of the services provided by the Housing Division, such as furnishing rooms with essential items, providing internet service, organizing periodic maintenance and civil defense systems, ensuring daily cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment through security and surveillance systems. The committee also examined areas designated for studying and leisure, which support students’ academic stability within the residence.
The committee met with several resident students to listen to their opinions and remarks regarding the level of services and their needs. It also followed up on the efforts made by the college to enhance a comfortable and supportive living environment that contributes to students’ academic progress.
For his part, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Baheya, reaffirmed the college’s continuous commitment to improving the reality of student housing. He noted that the administration works diligently to provide a suitable and secure environment for students, while addressing any obstacles that may affect their stability during their years of study.
At the conclusion of the visit, the committee members expressed their appreciation for the well-organized housing facilities and the college’s dedication to providing appropriate services for students. They emphasized the importance of continuing to develop the housing environment in ways that meet students’ aspirations and enhance their university experience.
