Under the patronage and presence of Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiya, Dean of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, the college organized a scientific seminar entitled “Leadership Skills and Self-Building” in cooperation with the Association for Specialized Studies Between the Seminary and the University. The event was attended by Ms. Sundus Al-Mousawi, a member of the Al-Diwaniyah Provincial Council, along with faculty members, technical staff, and students.
The seminar was presented by Sheikh Qasim Al-Hashimi, President of the Association, who discussed the importance of developing personal and collective leadership skills, building self-awareness on scientific and ethical foundations, enhancing self-confidence, and making sound decisions. Sheikh Al-Hashimi emphasized that true leadership begins with understanding oneself and clearly defining goals, and that self-development is the cornerstone of academic, professional, and social success. He also highlighted the role of continuous learning and practical experiences in refining these skills.
The seminar focused on the importance of self-improvement and enhancing personal and professional competencies, providing practical strategies to apply these skills in academic and community life.
The event witnessed active engagement from attendees, who were given the opportunity to ask questions and participate in discussions, thereby strengthening students’ and staff members’ capabilities and encouraging them to adopt effective leadership practices in various aspects of their lives.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the Dean presented a certificate of appreciation to Sheikh Qasim Al-Hashimi in recognition of his valuable contribution, while Sheikh Al-Hashimi presented a shield and certificate of appreciation to the Dean in acknowledgment of his efforts in supporting and organizing scientific events at the college.
