The General Secretariat of the Holy Al-Askari Shrine held a ceremony to honor 225 academics who earned the title of Professor and patents during the year 2025, as part of the celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him), the Leader of the Faithful, and the Week of the Blessed Birth of the Kaaba.
The ceremony witnessed the honoring of Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiyya, the Dean of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, in recognition of his academic achievements, outstanding efforts in developing the educational process and scientific research, and his active contributions to supporting the higher education sector and providing the community with skilled professionals.
The honoring ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, as well as the Secretary-General of the Holy Al-Askari Shrine, Mr. Issa Al-Kharasan, along with representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Higher Education, and Scientific Research, in addition to a distinguished group of academics, scholars, and university presidents and deans from across Iraq.
This recognition emphasizes the importance of Iraqi academic excellence and its role in building society and advancing the academic and scientific journey in the country.
