A delegation from the Civil Defense Directorate of Al-Diwaniyah, headed by Colonel Aqeel Hamza Marzouk and accompanied by Major Haider Jawad Aboud, visited Polytechnic College – Al-Qadisiyah. They were warmly received by Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiya, Dean of the College, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Hashim Youssef, Vice Dean for Student Affairs.
The delegation, along with Mr. Ahmed Moheidd Al-Abadi, Head of the Civil Defense Unit at the College, reviewed the measures taken by the College’s administration to enhance safety and prevention standards. The inspection covered scientific and administrative departments, student dormitories, and facilities. The delegation also examined early warning systems, fire extinguishing devices, hose reel systems, and emergency exits, as well as evacuation plans.
During the visit, the Dean emphasized the College’s commitment to providing a safe university environment by adhering to the guidelines set by the relevant authorities. The College also organizes training courses and workshops for staff and students in collaboration with the Civil Defense Directorate. These sessions focus on the types of fire extinguishers, their proper usage, and appropriate responses in emergency situations.
For its part, the visiting delegation commended the level of organization and preventive measures in place at the College, praising the efforts made by the College administration and the Civil Defense Unit in promoting safety awareness among staff and students. This, they noted, contributes to raising community awareness and reducing potential risks.
