Professor Dr. Khudair Majeed Allawi, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs at Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, participated as a member and primary supervisor in the defense committee for a Master’s thesis at the Administrative Technical College / Kufa, an affiliate of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
During the session, the Master’s thesis titled “Integration of Material Flow Cost Accounting and Cleaner Production to Achieve Product Sustainability” was defended by student Fadel Hayawi Aliwi Sadiq, from the Department of Accounting Techniques.
The study aimed to demonstrate the significance of integrating Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA) with cleaner production practices to support product sustainability. This is achieved by enhancing resource efficiency, reducing waste, and improving environmental and productive performance within industrial institutions.
The findings indicated that implementing MFCA methods improves resource management efficiency and reduces costs associated with losses and waste in production processes. Furthermore, the integration with cleaner production practices mitigates the environmental impacts of industrial activities and promotes product sustainability. The study also highlighted a positive correlation between adopting these modern accounting methods and achieving higher levels of economic and environmental efficiency.
The study recommended that industrial institutions adopt modern accounting models based on the integration of MFCA and cleaner production, given their vital role in achieving product sustainability and enhancing environmental and economic performance. Additionally, it emphasized the importance of developing the professional capabilities of accounting personnel to align with sustainable development requirements.
