Within the framework of the executive plan for the National Strategy for Iraqi Women (Item 1 / Pillar 2), the Women’s Affairs Unit at Al-Qadisiyah Technical College, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Al-Qadisiyah / College of Administration and Economics, organized an awareness seminar titled “Women’s Economic Empowerment in Iraq: Between Legislation and Implementation.”

The seminar sessions were presented by Asst. Lect. Zainab Zamat Hamza, Asst. Lect. Rasha Hamid, and Asst. Lect. Duha Salem. The speakers highlighted the most prominent aspects of Iraqi women’s economic empowerment, reviewing the legislations and laws that support their active participation in the labor market. They also discussed the practical implementation of these laws and the challenges hindering women’s economic independence.

The seminar addressed several key topics, including the role of government policies in supporting women economically, the importance of enhancing job opportunities and small-scale projects, and showcasing successful models and experiences that have contributed to empowering women and boosting their participation in economic development.

The event witnessed a distinguished attendance of faculty members and students, featuring extensive interaction through discussions and interventions that enriched the seminar’s themes. The session concluded with recommendations aimed at strengthening the role of women in achieving sustainable development.
