This event was organized as part of the \u2018Stay Aware\u2019 initiative, which aims to strengthen security awareness among students.<br>The seminar was delivered by: Brigadier Khalid Kazem Hussein, Director of the Weapons Division; Legal Officer Lieutenant Colonel Abbas Burdan Al-Barqa\u2018awi from the Relations and Media Directorate \/ Community Police Department; and Lieutenant Colonel Alaa Hassouni from the \u201cFriends of the Interior\u201d program<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Baheya, along with a number of department heads, faculty members, and a gathering of students. The event addressed several key topics, most notably:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>\u2022 Electronic Extortion:<\/strong><br>A definition of its types and methods, an explanation of how to protect personal accounts, and clarification of the procedures that must be followed when facing any threat or blackmail attempt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>\u2022 Restricting Weapons to State Authorities:<\/strong><br>An emphasis on the importance of enforcing the law, preserving civil peace, and highlighting the citizen\u2019s role in supporting security efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>\u2022 Rumors and Their Risks to the Student Community:<\/strong><br>An explanation of how rumors spread, their negative impact on societal stability, and methods for verifying information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>The seminar also introduced the emergency hotline (911), designated for receiving urgent reports, and stressed the importance of contacting it immediately in cases of extortion, threats, or any situation requiring security intervention.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>The event witnessed substantial engagement from students, who posed questions and contributed comments. Security representatives were keen to provide detailed answers and practical guidance to help enhance preventive awareness among young people.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>The Student Activities Division noted that awareness programs will continue, aiming to foster a safe university environment and strengthen security consciousness.
