The Board of Directors of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held its fifth session for the academic year 2025-2026, chaired by the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, with the attendance of the esteemed board members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In turn, the university council members welcomed the Dean of the Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, and the senior staff of the institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The university president opened the session by reviewing key directives from the Minister during the recent Higher Council meeting, which emphasized the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The need to enhance scientific publishing in global repositories and the importance of monitoring all formations\u2019 data and statistics from the ministry to assess the status of scientific publishing. This includes leveraging the data to improve the quality of solid scientific research, with a strong emphasis on working to include Iraqi scientific journals in reputable international repositories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Support for scientific societies established under the law, aiming for these societies to contribute to scientific development and support the goals and plans of sustainable development. It is possible to include and engage these societies, based on their specialties, in the advisory councils formed in universities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The importance of adhering to the regulations for establishing reputable scientific journals, in line with the ministry\u2019s commitment to enhancing the quality of these journals and ensuring compliance with standards in global repositories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The necessity of completing registration procedures for new students in the first stage for the academic year 2025-2026 according to the announced timelines and the approved university calendar, with attention to the specific requirements for disciplines included in the Bologna System and ensuring all necessary preparations are in place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    On another note, the university president expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Minister for his leadership over the past years and his continued support for the university at all levels, especially for the introduction of innovative initiatives such as the Higher Institute of Nano-Technologies for graduate studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. The university president praised the ongoing reconstruction efforts across the university to provide an ideal academic environment, emphasizing the need to apply engineering specifications to ensure quality implementation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. The necessity of closely monitoring scientific research activity, as it is a crucial aspect of the ministry\u2019s work and the universities, serving as a gateway to global recognition. In this regard, the university board appreciates the considerable support provided by the Minister for this important area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. The importance of holding continuous meetings with staff members to remind them of the university\u2019s regulations and traditions, and working to strengthen the sense of belonging to the institution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. The need to continuously assess the needs of students, meet them where possible, and ensure the creation of a positive atmosphere and good human relationships with students, as they are at the core of the educational process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. The importance of adopting initiatives across the university\u2019s formations that contribute to enhancing the university\u2019s academic reputation by activating memorandums of understanding with prestigious global universities and organizing scientific conferences and joint workshops.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      The attendees then reviewed the topics listed on the agenda, discussed several academic, administrative, and student-related issues, and made appropriate recommendations and decisions regarding them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
