The Dean of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammad Abbas Bahieh, participated in the fifth meeting of the Board of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University for the academic year 2025-2026, which was held at the Najaf Technical Institute. The meeting was chaired by the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, with the attendance of the esteemed board members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session began with a review of the key directives from the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presented during the recent Higher Council meeting. These included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The need to enhance scientific publishing in global repositories, monitor the data and statistics related to scientific publishing, and work towards improving the quality of solid scientific research, with a focus on including Iraqi scientific journals in internationally recognized repositories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Support for scientific societies established under the law, recognizing their active role in scientific advancement and sustainable development goals. It was also noted that these societies could be involved in industrial advisory councils based on their specialties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The importance of adhering to regulations for establishing reputable scientific journals in line with global standards, and the ministry\u2019s commitment to improving their scientific level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The necessity of completing the registration procedures for first-year students for the academic year 2025-2026 according to the announced timelines and the approved university calendar, while ensuring compliance with the requirements of disciplines included in the Bologna system.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    In another part of the meeting, the university president expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Minister for his leadership of the ministry over the past years and for his continuous support of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, especially regarding innovative initiatives such as the establishment of the Higher Institute for Nano-Technologies for graduate studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The council also discussed several important topics, including praise for the ongoing reconstruction efforts across the university and its formations, the need for close monitoring of scientific research activities, enhancing communication with staff, fostering institutional loyalty, addressing students’ needs, and creating a positive academic environment. Additionally, the council emphasized adopting initiatives that contribute to enhancing the university’s academic reputation through activating memorandums of understanding with global universities and organizing joint scientific events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    At the conclusion of the meeting, the board members reviewed the topics listed on the agenda, discussed various scientific, administrative, and student-related matters, and made appropriate recommendations and decisions to support the university\u2019s scientific and administrative progress.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
