As part of completing the requirements for holding the First International Scientific Conference, a delegation from Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University visited Erbil Polytechnic University with the aim of following up on the organizational and scientific aspects and determining the venue and timing of the conference. The delegation included Professor Dr. Zaki Muhammad Abbas Bahya, Dean of Polytechnic College – Al-Qadisiyah, Professor Dr. Hasnain Ghani Al-Husseini, Dean of the Engineering Technical College – Najaf, and Professor Dr. Qahtan Adnan Al-Fatlawi, Dean of Al-Rumaitha Technical Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation was received by Professor Dr. Azad Hassan Qader, Assistant President of Erbil Polytechnic University for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Professor Dr. Botan Majid Isnkar, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, and Professor Dr. Iyad Zaki Saber, Dean of the Engineering Technical College, along with several department heads at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This visit is part of the ongoing scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities and aims to complete the procedures for holding the First International Scientific Conference, which is organized by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, represented by the Polytechnic College – Al-Qadisiyah, Al-Rumaitha Technical Institute, and the Engineering Technical College – Najaf, in partnership with Erbil Polytechnic University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, the venue and timing of the conference were determined, and discussions were held on the organizational and scientific aspects related to receiving scientific papers, approving specialized scientific committees to evaluate the submitted papers, and defining the conference’s themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference is scheduled to be held at Erbil Polytechnic University on April 14-15, 2026, under the title:
“The First International Conference on Engineering-Science Nexus for Sustainable Development 2026.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference will cover fields such as engineering and technology, management, and medical sciences, providing an opportunity for researchers and graduate students to actively participate and present their scientific papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also agreed to adopt a number of peer-reviewed scientific journals for publishing the accepted papers, ensuring they are included in reputable global and local databases to guarantee the quality of the scientific outputs and enhance the status of scientific research at technical universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both sides confirmed that this step represents an advanced stage in the preparation for the conference and contributes to supporting sustainable development paths, enhancing academic cooperation, and raising the scientific profile of Iraqi technical universities in local and international academic rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed their thanks and appreciation to Erbil Polytechnic University for the warm reception and cooperation, commending the efforts made in supporting the conference preparations, and emphasizing the importance of continuing joint coordination to ensure the success of the conference and achieve its scientific goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
