{"id":45028,"date":"2026-03-13T14:36:59","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T14:36:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idi.atu.edu.iq\/?p=45028"},"modified":"2026-03-13T14:37:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T14:37:00","slug":"al-furat-al-awsat-technical-universitys-womens-affairs-unit-organizes-workshop-women-and-the-private-sector-towards-a-fairer-working-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/idi.atu.edu.iq\/?p=45028&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University\u2019s Women\u2019s Affairs Unit Organizes Workshop: &#8220;Women and the Private Sector: Towards a Fairer Working Environment&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By: College Media Department<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Women\u2019s Affairs Unit at Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, a constituent of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, in collaboration with the Department of Health Management Technologies, held a workshop titled&nbsp;<strong>&#8220;Women and the Private Sector: Towards a Fairer Working Environment.&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;This initiative aligns with the implementation of the National Strategy to Combat Violence Against Women, specifically under the Protection and Prevention pillar (Paragraph Five).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturers Ahlam Mirza, Wijdan Jabs, Amal Sawadi, and Zainab Youssef, with a number of students in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sessions addressed the current status of women\u2019s participation in the private sector and the importance of their economic and professional empowerment in achieving&nbsp;<strong>sustainable development<\/strong>. Discussions also covered the concepts of justice and&nbsp;<strong>equal opportunity<\/strong>&nbsp;in the workplace, alongside challenges facing women in this sector, such as the&nbsp;<strong>gender pay gap<\/strong>, limited promotion opportunities, and various social and organizational barriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the role of institutions and corporations in adopting supportive policies for women by providing a&nbsp;<strong>safe working environment<\/strong>&nbsp;and implementing flexible policies that foster a&nbsp;<strong>work-life balance<\/strong>. It also emphasized the necessity of developing women\u2019s professional and leadership skills to enhance their presence across diverse economic fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop concluded by underscoring the vital role of&nbsp;<strong>legislation and laws<\/strong>&nbsp;in protecting the rights of working women and promoting equality within institutions.
