\/ College Media Unit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahaya, the Department of Forensic Evidence Techniques at Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, organized a legal workshop titled: “Constitutional Guarantees for the Rights of the Accused in the Republic of Iraq.”<\/strong> The session was presented by Lecturer Mohammed Ghattat Al-Ziyadi, Asst. Lecturer Taif Nazim Fares, and Asst. Lecturer Noor Qasim Hussein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop addressed the importance of protecting human rights as a fundamental pillar of modern constitutional systems, focusing on the rights of the accused throughout the stages of criminal proceedings. The lecturers emphasized that criminal justice is not solely about punishing the offender, but also about providing guarantees that preserve the defendant’s dignity and ensure a fair trial in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session reviewed the key constitutional guarantees stipulated in the 2005 Constitution of the Republic of Iraq, most notably: the presumption of innocence, the publicity of trials, the prohibition of torture, the right to defense, and protection against arbitrary arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
