{"id":51822,"date":"2026-06-10T16:08:28","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T16:08:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idi.atu.edu.iq\/?p=51822"},"modified":"2026-06-13T16:09:13","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T16:09:13","slug":"middle-euphrates-technical-university-holds-a-seminar-entitled-obstacles-facing-women-in-society-and-the-workplace-and-strategies-for-confronting-them","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/idi.atu.edu.iq\/?p=51822&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Middle Euphrates Technical University Holds a Seminar Entitled \u201cObstacles Facing Women in Society and the Workplace and Strategies for Confronting Them\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\/ College Media Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Women\u2019s Affairs Unit at <strong>Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College<\/strong>, one of the formations of <strong>Middle Euphrates Technical University<\/strong>, in cooperation with the <strong>Forensic Evidence Department<\/strong>, organized an awareness seminar entitled <strong>\u201cObstacles Facing Women in Society and the Workplace and Strategies for Confronting Them.\u201d<\/strong> The seminar was held as part of the activities of the <strong>National Strategy for Combating Violence Against Women and Girls<\/strong>, under the <strong>Protection and Prevention Pillar<\/strong>, Paragraph Five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seminar was delivered by <strong>Assistant Lecturer Noor Qasim Hussein<\/strong> and <strong>Ms. Rehab Kareem Hadi<\/strong>, Head of the Women\u2019s Affairs Unit. The speakers discussed the major challenges and obstacles facing women in society and the workplace, including restrictive social traditions, violence, limited educational opportunities, the gender pay gap, and workplace harassment, as well as their negative impact on women\u2019s participation in various fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seminar also highlighted key strategies for addressing these challenges, including enhancing community awareness and education regarding women\u2019s rights, enacting laws and policies that protect women from discrimination and violence, and promoting women\u2019s economic and educational empowerment through training programs and support for women-led projects. In addition, the speakers emphasized the importance of cooperation between government institutions and civil society organizations to provide a supportive and safe environment for women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several recommendations were presented during the seminar, most notably the development of a comprehensive national plan for women\u2019s empowerment in society and the labor market, strengthening educational and awareness programs aimed at changing negative traditional perceptions, encouraging women\u2019s participation in political and economic sectors, and ensuring the effective implementation of laws and policies that protect women and safeguard their rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the conclusion of the seminar, the presenters stressed that women\u2019s empowerment is a shared responsibility that rests upon society and all its institutions.
