The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Polytechnic College – Al-Qadisiyah, one of the formations of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, in cooperation with the Department of Insurance, organized a training course entitled “Women, Stress Management, and Work–Life Balance.” The course was held ضمن the implementation of the National Strategy to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls, under the pillar of Protection and Prevention / First Clause.

The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Salima Najm Abdullah, Assistant Lecturer Ikhlas Kadhim, and Assistant Lecturer Zainab Kharbat. The lecturers presented a range of scientific and practical themes related to the psychological and professional empowerment of women to help them face daily challenges in both the workplace and family life.

The course addressed the concept of psychological stress and its causes, whether professional—such as workload and multiple responsibilities—or social and familial. It also explained the impact of stress on physical and mental health. Furthermore, it highlighted stress management skills, including time management, setting priorities, fostering positive thinking, and learning relaxation techniques and methods of controlling tension. The course also discussed the importance of achieving a balance between work requirements and personal life through effective planning, establishing clear boundaries between the two spheres, and strengthening family and workplace support for women.

This course forms part of a future action plan aimed at continuing the organization of training programs and empowerment workshops that enhance women’s self-confidence, develop their decision-making abilities, and support professional success without compromising their familial and social roles—thereby contributing to building a balanced personality capable of productivity and stability
