Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahya, and the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Hussein Mohammed, the Ramadan Faculty Seven-a-Side Football Championship concluded on the college’s sports field. The tournament was organized by the Student Activities Division with the participation of several teams representing various government institutions.
The final match featured a highly competitive and enthusiastic atmosphere, showcasing high-level performance and sportsmanship among the participating teams, in the presence of college staff and representatives from the participating entities.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Dean, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahya, along with Mr. Faisal Ghazi, head of the National Olympic Committee in Diwaniyah; Dr. Basem Mohammed Abbas, former National Basketball Team player; and Mr. Saddam, Assistant Director of Sports Activities; in addition to college faculty members and distinguished guests.
The tournament results led to the crowning of the winning team with the championship title, while all participating teams were honored for their efforts and contribution to the success of this sporting event. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of trophies and medals to the winners, as well as certificates of appreciation for the participating teams and the organizing committee.
In his speech, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahya emphasized that hosting such championships strengthens cooperation and communication between institutions and promotes a culture of physical activity, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan. He praised the organizers’ efforts and the teams’ commitment to fair play. He added that the college remains dedicated to supporting sports and cultural activities to foster teamwork and a positive work environment.
