The Department of Nursing Techniques at Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, an institution of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, organized a scientific course titled “Medical Errors in Health Institutions and Legal Liability.”
The course aimed to enhance legal and professional awareness, emphasizing the balance between professional duty and the legal protection of both health practitioners and patients. The lecturers were Dr. Baraa Jalil Saeed, Dr. Israa Nazhem Abdul-Sattar, and Mr. Asaad Thamer Mikbas.
The course highlighted key medical errors in health institutions and their legal and professional impacts. It also explained the responsibilities of healthcare workers toward patients under approved legal frameworks.
Additionally, the course addressed reducing medical errors by improving medical team communication, adhering to approved protocols, and implementing immediate reporting mechanisms to minimize legal and medical consequences.
