The Women’s Affairs Unit at Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, a division of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, organized a legal workshop titled: “Legal Rights and Duties of Female Faculty Members in Educational Institutions.” The event was held in accordance with the third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (UNSCR 1325) / Prevention Pillar / Paragraph (3).

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Ali Majeed Khalil and Miss Rehab Karim Hadi, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit. It addressed the legal rights and duties of female faculty members in educational institutions, aiming to enhance the legal and professional awareness among female teaching staff, and to outline the rights guaranteed by laws and regulations that contribute to providing a safe and fair working environment.

The workshop also emphasized the importance of adhering to job and ethical duties that enhance the status of the educational institution and elevate the level of academic and educational performance.

The session clarified the rights of female faculty members regarding equal employment opportunities, leaves, legal protection, and the right to participate in courses and scientific activities. Additionally, it covered the mechanisms for submitting complaints when subjected to any administrative or professional violations.

Furthermore, the workshop discussed core duties, which include compliance with regulations and instructions, maintaining professional ethics, respecting students and colleagues, and ensuring the continuous development of scientific and educational skills.

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of spreading legal culture within educational institutions to help achieve a work environment based on mutual respect, justice, and professional discipline, which positively reflects on the quality of education and the performance of teaching staff.
