The Department of Medical Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Techniques at Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College organized a specialized volunteer visit to the Elderly Care Home in Al-Diwaniyah. The initiative aimed to provide health and humanitarian support to the elderly by offering rehabilitation and physical therapy services using specialized medical equipment, as well as distributing various medical aids, including braces, crutches, medical patches, and other assistive devices.
The visit was conducted with the participation of the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Nawfal Saleh Dakhel, the Department Coordinator, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Ghanim Abbas, and Assistant Lecturer Nidaa Fadhil Aziz. The team was joined by Mr. Raed Abdul-Zahra Hussein from the Physical Therapy Department at Al-Diwaniyah Teaching Hospital, along with a number of students from the department.
The initiative featured the delivery of rehabilitation services and health consultations to the home’s residents, contributing to improving their health and psychological well-being and bringing joy to their hearts.
This initiative falls within the framework of the community and humanitarian activities that the department is keen to implement, reinforcing the role of the academic institution in community service, consolidating the values of solidarity and voluntary work, and developing the humanitarian and professional aspects of the students through their active participation in serving groups in need.
