Under the Patronage of the Dean, Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiya, the Women’s Affairs Unit at Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College Organizes the Festival “Her Footprint Creates Life”
Under the supervision of the Dean, Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiya, and in the presence of department heads, division managers, faculty members, and students, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college organized its annual festival as part of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign, titled “Her Footprint Creates Life”. The festival aims to raise community awareness about the importance of women’s empowerment and their active role in society.
The festival began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the Iraqi national anthem, reflecting national pride and the academic spirit of the campus.
Ms. Rahab Kareem Hadi, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, delivered a speech highlighting the role of women in society, the importance of empowering them, and the urgent need to combat violence against women. She emphasized the responsibility of society and educational institutions in protecting women’s rights and enhancing their status, noting that such initiatives help raise awareness among students and promote a safe educational environment.
The festival included various literary contributions by poets, awareness videos highlighting women’s rights, and an educational theatrical performance demonstrating the impact of violence on women and society, advocating for equality and justice.
Interactive activities were also held, including the writing of empowering messages by the Dean and participants, as well as artistic displays illustrating the vital role of women in societal development. These activities added a cultural and artistic dimension to the festival while reinforcing its awareness messages.
The event concluded with honoring the contributors, where certificates of appreciation were presented to the participating poets and creative contributors by Ms. Rahab Kareem Hadi, recognizing their efforts in enriching the festival and spreading meaningful messages about women’s roles and combating violence against them.
