As part of the activities of the Polytechnic Forum for Investment and Entrepreneurship 2025, under the slogan “Towards a Sustainable Entrepreneurial Environment,” which is being held at our college, the Technology Incubator Unit, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized a training workshop titled “Women in Entrepreneurship: Opportunities and Challenges,” presented by international trainer Ms. Amal Al-Shabani.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Zaki Muhammad Abbas Bahieh, Dean of the College of Polytechnic – Al-Qadisiyah, Dr. Khudair Majid Alawi, Scientific Assistant, as well as several department heads, staff, and students. It focused on the role of women in building entrepreneurial projects and enhancing their participation in the national economy, using modern training methods and motivational presentations aimed at empowering students and guiding them toward future entrepreneurial paths.
The training program included discussions of successful local and international models in women’s entrepreneurship, highlighting the essential skills required to start small projects. It also provided practical exercises on preparing business plans and analyzing entrepreneurial opportunities, thereby enhancing participants’ ability to transform their ideas into viable projects.
The workshop featured a valuable intervention by Dean Dr. Zaki Muhammad Abbas Bahieh, who emphasized the importance of supporting women-led entrepreneurial initiatives and providing a stimulating environment to empower women in investment and business. He also stressed the college’s role in nurturing young talents and developing their capabilities in alignment with the university’s vision to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
At the conclusion of the training program, the Dean presented a Shield of Excellence and a Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Amal Al-Shabani, in recognition of her outstanding efforts and significant contribution to the success of the forum’s activities.
