Under the patronage of the Deanship of the Polytechnic College – Al-Qadisiyah at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, and in cooperation with the Enkidu Volunteer Team and the International Labour Organization (ILO), and in coordination with Mr. Yousif Hussein Al-Qurra Ghuli, a staff member of the Student Activities Division, a training course entitled “Financial Literacy” was held. The course targeted a number of staff members and students with the aim of spreading financial awareness and enhancing personal financial management skills.
The course was inaugurated by the Dean of the Polytechnic College – Al-Qadisiyah, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahiyya, who emphasized in his speech the importance of promoting financial literacy among youth and students, due to its role in enabling individuals to manage their financial resources properly and make informed financial decisions that contribute to achieving economic stability for both individuals and society.
The course was delivered by Mr. Mohammed Abu Al-Hail, a certified trainer with the International Labour Organization (ILO), who provided a detailed explanation of the fundamental concepts of personal financial management and their importance in daily life.
The course included several important topics, most notably:

🔹 Personal budgeting
🔹 Saving methods and financial planning
The course also addressed the importance of sound financial planning in facing economic challenges and methods of organizing expenditures to achieve a balance between basic needs and saving for the future. In addition, a set of practical guidelines was presented to help participants develop sound financial habits.
The training course witnessed active participation from attendees through questions and discussions of several practical cases related to personal money management, contributing to enhancing financial literacy among staff and students and enabling them to apply these concepts in their daily lives.
This course comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to develop the skills of its staff and students, broaden their knowledge in various aspects of life, and strengthen partnerships with organizations and institutions that support development and capacity building.
