Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Qadisiyah Polytechnic College, Professor Dr. Zaki Mohammed Abbas Bahieh, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics organized a qualitative event titled “A Message from the Future.” The initiative aimed to strengthen communication bridges between second-year students (upcoming graduates) and the newly enrolled first-year students.

The event, supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Thanaa Ismail Jawad, Head of the Department, and with the participation of Eng. Ali Salem, Eng. Ali Hussein, Eng. Ali Ahmed, and Mrs. Risala Shaker, featured second-year students writing inspirational letters and advice to their new peers, drawing from their academic and practical experiences within the department.

The messages varied between academic guidance specific to the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics, and motivational advice encouraging perseverance, diligence, and overcoming challenges throughout their university journey.

This initiative is part of the Deanship’s and the Department’s commitment to providing psychological support to students and fostering a spirit of cooperation and belonging. Such efforts contribute to creating an integrated educational environment based on the exchange of expertise.

The event aims to pass on the essence of the academic experience, reduce the cognitive and social gap between students, and make first-year students feel part of a cohesive professional system that begins in the classroom and extends to serving people with disabilities in the workforce.

The initiative was widely welcomed by the first-year students, who expressed their gratitude for this gesture, noting that it provided them with a clearer vision of their future academic path. These messages were documented on a dedicated display board within the department’s corridors to serve as a sustainable source of moral support.
